Context

For forty days after the resurrection, Jesus keeps showing up in ways the disciples cannot quite categorize. Locked rooms, meals, impossible proof - enough to keep them close, listening, and still confused about what comes next.

On the Mount of Olives, the last conversation starts with the question they have been carrying for years.

Story

The disciples ask if this is finally the moment Jesus restores the kingdom to Israel. They are still thinking timing, power, and visible victory.

"Lord, are you at this point going to restore the kingdom to Israel?"

Jesus does not give them the timeline. He gives them an assignment: receive power, become witnesses, and carry the message from Jerusalem all the way to the ends of the earth.

Then the cloud takes him. The eleven stand there staring into the sky until two men in white tell them he will come back the same way. The commission has been handed over, and they have to move.

What We Learn

Sometimes the holy moment ends before you feel ready.

Faithfulness is not only staying close while the Leader is visible. It is walking back down the hill with the work still in your hands.
