Safety

Safety & crisis resources

Bible BFF is encouragement, not treatment. Here's exactly how we handle the moments that are bigger than an app — and where to find real help right now.

If you need help right now

United States & Canada: call or text 988(Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) ·United Kingdom: Samaritans, 116 123 (free, 24/7) ·Australia: Lifeline, 13 11 14.

If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services. These lines are staffed by trained humans — reaching out is strength, not failure.

Our crisis-response protocol

The Bible BFF app includes an AI chat companion. If a conversation shows signs that someone may be thinking about suicide or self-harm, the companion is designed to respond with care and to refer to the crisis services listed above — human help, first and always. It is built not to produce content about how to self-harm under any circumstances.

This protocol is published here as a standing commitment, and it applies to every conversation, on every plan, in every region we serve.

What the AI companion will and won't do

It's honest about being AI. It will never claim to be a human, a pastor, God, or Jesus.

It doesn't give medical, legal, or psychological advice. For those questions it points to qualified humans.

It's not a romantic companion. Ever, for anyone.

It's judgment-free by design — questions about faith, doubt, and mess are the whole point — and it stays respectful of every denomination and of people of other faiths or none.
