Context
Paul is locked in Roman custody in Jerusalem, and the danger outside the barracks is not vague. A faction wants him dead before the trial process can move another inch.
The surprising detail is the family one: Paul has a sister, and her unnamed son is close enough to hear what powerful adults think is private.
Story
Forty men bind themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until Paul is dead. They ask the chief priests to arrange one more fake questioning, planning to kill him on the road.
Somewhere in Jerusalem, Paul's nephew hears the plan. He walks into the barracks alone, tells Paul, and gets sent straight to the Roman commander.
"what is it you have to tell me?"
The kid gives the whole report: the oath, the ambush, the setup. The commander tells him to keep it quiet, then moves Paul out at night with hundreds of soldiers. The ambush waits on a road Paul never takes.
What We Learn
God can put the hinge of history in a person nobody bothers to name. The nephew does not preach or lead; he listens, tells the truth, and walks into the room anyway.
The small character still matters.
